Our programme explores the Christmas story through a selection of music spanning five centuries. Works by Clemens non Papa, Poulenc and Pärt focus on the Star and the journey of the Magi, while settings by Darke, Chilcott and Scriven reflect other familiar themes of the season.

Traditional carols including The Holly and the Ivy, I Saw Three Ships, Here We Come A-Wassailing and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear sit alongside choral works from Britain, Europe and North America, journeying from quiet reflection to festive celebration.  The programme also features hammered dulcimer, whose distinctive timbre will bring an additional colour to seasonal favourites.
